The moment that changed everything
Melbourne, 2022. I was comfortable, safe in routine, secure in the familiar. Then I visited a clairvoyant on a whim. Her words hit me like a wave: "You're meant for more than this. Go. Now."
Three weeks later, I left everything I knew.
Two complete strangers. Four months through Europe. No plan except to say yes to the winding roads of the Amalfi Coast, to sunrise swims in Greece, to conversations with locals in tiny Portuguese villages, to getting lost in the blue-domed beauty of Santorini.
Living like a local, seeing like an artist
Greece. Croatia. Italy. France. Spain. Portugal. London.
I didn't tour, I lived. I woke up to the fishermen in coastal villages. I learned which beaches the locals actually swim at (not the ones in guidebooks). I discovered that the most beautiful light happens at 6:47am when the world is still quiet.
Every sunrise swim, every cobblestone street, every turquoise cove, I documented it all. Not as a tourist passing through, but as someone falling in love with these places, one frame at a time.
Born on a clifftop in Capri
The Beginning
Sitting on the cliffs of Capri, watching the Mediterranean sparkle below, I had a realisation: What if I could bring this feeling home to people? What if someone in a Melbourne apartment could wake up every morning to the Amalfi Coast?
Kamalia Studio Is Born
I registered the business right there, on my phone, on that clifftop. The name "Kamalia" felt right, it sounded like the waves, like adventure, like coming home to beauty.
